How to Choose the Right Roofing Ladder
The right ladder will depend on the height of the property, the roof pitch, the type of work being carried out and the frequency of use.
Choose a Trade Extension Ladder When:
- You need to reach gutters, fascias or roof level.
- You require access to a two or three-storey property.
- The ladder will be used regularly for professional work.
- You need a double or triple-section ladder for easier transportation.
- You require a ladder certified for professional use.
Choose a Roof Ladder When:
- You need to work directly on a pitched roof.
- You require a ridge hook to secure the ladder over the roof.
- You want bearer bars to help distribute weight across the roof surface.
- You are carrying out roof repairs, inspections or maintenance.
- A standard leaning ladder would not provide suitable access to the work area.
For many roofing jobs, both an access ladder and a roof ladder will be required.
